92nd Street Elementary School Celebrates Grant Award

Dedicated teacher Virginia Arenas secures funds to assist playground renovations with assistance from Facilities Services Division, Facilities Grants and Funding and Local District I offices. Friday, June 25th, herald the culminating activities of the 92nd Street Elementary School, 2004 Olympic Games with presentations of medals to outstanding student athletes. This year's competition highlighted the new three-lane running track resurfaced with material made from nearly 1,000 recycled waste tires. The track was paid for by a $25,000 California Integrated Waste Management Board, Waste Tire and Track grant and voter-approved Proposition BB matching funds.
