LAUSD's Office of Environmental Health and Safety (OEHS) prepares and circulates a Notice of Preparation and Initial Study (NOP/IS). This document is available for a 30-day public review period. Agencies and individuals can provide input on the content and scope of the Program EIR.

OEHS hosts scoping meetings to collect public input on the content of the Program EIR. Both oral and written comments are accepted at these meetings.

A Notice of Availability (NOA) is sent to agencies and individuals who attended the scoping meetings to announce the availability of the Draft Program EIR. The Draft Program EIR is available for a 45-day public review period. Agencies and individuals can comment in writing, or orally at public meetings, on the analysis in the Draft EIR.

Public meetings are held to receive public comments on the analysis in the Draft EIR. Both oral and written comments are accepted at these meetings.

Upon receipt of agency and individual comments regarding the content of the Draft EIR, responses to comments and a Final PEIR are prepared.

LAUSD will present the Final Program EIR to the Facilities Committee, who will then make a recommendation to the Board of Education. The LAUSD Board of Education will consider the Final Program EIR and recommendations from the Facilities Committee and will certify the Final Program EIR.
